PRECIPITATION GRAVIMETRY

Form, collect and weigh an insoluble product

Move the apparatus yourself, connect each visible change to the particle model and see how technique affects the final result.

About this simulation

Work through an interactive gravimetric analysis in which a dissolved analyte is converted to a precipitate, isolated, washed, dried and measured. Students complete the practical sequence and use the measured mass to determine composition, linking careful laboratory technique with stoichiometry and quantitative analysis. The virtual laboratory supports preparation for real practical work rather than replacing laboratory safety procedures.

Key concepts: Gravimetric analysis, Precipitation, Filtration, Quantitative analysis.
