About this simulation

These four device simulations show how an electric current can create a magnetic field and produce movement in a practical system. Students can examine a door lock, shower valve, water gate and marble-run mechanism, then identify the electrical input, electromagnet, moving component and resulting action. The collection is designed for secondary science lessons on electromagnets, energy conversion and simple control systems.

Key concepts: Electromagnets, Electric current, Magnetic fields, Forces and motion.
